Needless to say that when you sit down to watch a movie like the 2021 action drama "The Gardener", it is almost solely because of Robert Bronzi's resemblance to Charles Bronson. And having seen a couple of Bronzi's movies so far, I have to say that I wasn't really expecting much from writers Ben Demaree and Jeff Miller. But still, I opted to watch it and give it a chance on the off chance that it might be a surprise. As it turns out then "The Gardener" was not a surprise. At least not in a positive way. Yeah, this movie from directors Scott Jeffrey and Rebecca Matthews was just downright generic and boring. The storyline was so bland that you could leave the movie for a long period of time and come back later, and still be up to speed with what was going. "The Gardener" brought nothing new to the action genre, and it was actually a swing and a miss. Not only was the storyline bland and boring, but so were the characters and the dialogue. I didn't feel anything for the characters in the movie, and as such it was matching the storyline well enough I suppose. And the fact that the dialogue was staggering and felt forced just didn't help much either. And I can't claim to have been bedazzled by the acting performances in the movie either. For an action movie then "The Gardener" was frightfully devoid of proper action contents. So if you sit down to watch this 2021 movie with the intention of being in for a proper action movie, then you will be sorely disappointed. My rating of "The Gardener" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

The movie opens with a home invasion gone bad and the owners are killed. We are introduced to a seemingly wealthy family with some financial issues and an Eastern European gardener who look like Charles Bronson. He fought in a war. Not too much to figure out. Home invasion. Then came Bronson. Very boring and predictable. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

If looking like Charles Bronson is good enough to get cast as a lead, then they should have taken the better route and just dug up Mr. Bronson. The fight scenes were painful to watch due to their bad, or rather what I assume to be, no choreography. The CGI effects never seemed to line up with what they were showing, like flash effects from gun barrels or bullet wounds. Do yourself a favor and watch an hour and a half of dogs sh****ng on lawns, and you'll have a better evening.

Very cheesy film, especially the action sequences. Die Hard it is nit. I liked the music, which added to the suspense. I also liked the fact that the hero was vegetarian. Not really worth a 9 but I thought the film was better than the current imdb rating of 3.5.

If you ever enjoyed watching Charles Bronson at work, you will enjoy this. With the lead actor, Robert Bronzi, I believe that is what they wanted to think. My opinion, it was worth watching as a DVD rental. Go for it!

Acting so wooden they make Thunderbirds puppets look real life . Fight scenes straight out of a slow motion WWE Wrestling ring . Think I am being generous with 2 stars .

I think the worst part was the terrible fight choreography. A Chinese artist,(Daniels) was terrible and his reference to the Japanese Samurai really had nothing to do with anything. The casting was off - A 25 year old playing the mid-teen son was not believable in this role. Should cast a teen to play a teen. The greasy haired father was so over the top horrible to his wife that it is hard to believe they ever had children. The maid would have been fired long ago with her unnecessary hateful attitude toward everyone. The "crew" robbing the house is so unbelievably stupid and violent they could not rob a McDonalds. Script - pretty poor. Just not worth the watch. I stopped half way.

Doesn't anyone in entertainment have integrity anymore to collectively speak up and declare a script to be absolute garbage instead be associated with it for the sake of exposure??? Really??? I am absolutely SURE that if all the actors got together and rewrote the script and I don't mean a total rewrite but enough fine tuning to make the end result at least watchable. Instead, they get the shame of being included in a total waste of time. Get some balls and stand up and make a difference before the entire industry gets reduced to the same place as newspaper, the trash can.
