And where is Ajit's body? Lol I expected so much from this movie because i seriously loved Kahani and Badla.. Both were fantastic movies made by Sujoy Ghosh but this one disappointed me so much.. Movie was going great but the ending was ridiculous and then finally the whole movie turned out predictable.. This could have been better, Writer could have thought a better ending. Acting was good by Kareena, Jaideep and Vijay Verma. This was not a mystery movie but a crime thriller. Please don't cheat the audience by calling it a mystery movie. Bad bad bad ending just ruined my mood honestly.. ...

Now, given that Sujoy Ghosh's latest drama-thriller (based on the 2005 Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino) arrives almost a decade after Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam (2013) and several remakes, including one in Hindi (plus a sequel), the way the thriller elements of this story play out does not exactly surprise you. Its strength, however, lies in some of its key performances (especially Jaideep Ahlawat & Kareena Kapoor Khan), and the dull, foggy Kalimpong setting. This is one of those films where the locations leave a signature and for good measure. None of the protagonists feel original to the place, but they seem to adapt to it pretty well. While the first act (i.e. The setup) is quite effective, the film slowly loosens its grip on the viewers as the investigation part unfolds. It then turns into a subtle triangular love (or lust) story, or at least pretends to be one. Turns out, the red herring they used to hold off pivotal plot points (revealed in the climax, to no one's surprise) also resulted in audiences feeling disconnected from the central characters. Except for one scene at a karaoke bar where she flexes her fluidity as a star, Kareena remains firmly grounded. Ahlawat's performance is the most solid, as he treads that fine line between creepy and dignified. Vijay Verma feels a bit out-of-place here, and it somehow feels like an extension of his Lust Stories 2 character. In the end, you're left with this feeling of "oh, this could've been so much more".

Film Review: Jaane Jaan streaming on Netflix Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this film is a true mindbender with its brilliantly executed twists and turns!! A mother (Kareena Kapoor) with a murky past is hiding from an abusive husband in Kalimpong when her past catches up with her. She accidentally kills her husband and is in a dilemma about what needs to be done! Her introvert neighbour Naren ( Jaideep Ahlawat), a nerdy yet brilliant mathematician who secretly loves Kareena agrees to help her out and that's when the cat and mouse game with the police begins !! Vijay Verma plays a sharp, handsome & suave Mumbai cop who is coincidentally in Kalimpong in search of Kareena's husband who is wanted in another case !! Who will prevail in the end, the nerd or the cop is what this film is all about!! All three lead actors -Kareena , Vijay Varma & Jaideep Ahlawat are brilliant in their respective roles , especially Ahlawat with his make-up, quirky mannerisms and calm demeanor in the most stressful of situations!! The guy seems to be getting better by the day!! Screenplay is crisp and is engaging from the first scene itself. Brilliant direction by Sujoy Ghosh coupled with great Cinematography depicting the dull and gloomy landscape of Kalimpong is also worth a mention!! A mind bender in the true sense!! Must watch for true aficionados of this genre!! Going with 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐✨ for this one.. adios 🙂!! #sanjuzzreviews #jaanejaan #JaaneJaanOnNetflix #kareenakapoor #JaideepAhlawat #VijayVarma #netflixindia #mindbender.

Story starts on a bad note (for that u need to watch it) as a audience I was like maybe Naren the teacher had a bad phase, but then the story makes a little bit curve. In few minutes u are going to make a little spicy story in ur head suddenly tudum villain came into the storyline. From now on full on planning and masala will entertain you . From my PoV the after the half part it is little bit slow but the story and grip needs that slowness. Also the kudos to the actors and the director who made this movie. A good a movie to watch if u want to do exercise for ur brain 😙 Xd , Kidding ! But it is a good a watch. And the salute to Jaideep ahlawat.

In the serene landscape of Kalimpong presented in "Jaane Jaan," it soon becomes apparent that still waters run deep. This engrossing Hindi-language mystery thriller, released on Netflix on 21st September 2023, is an adroit adaptation of Keigo Higashino's novel "The Devotion of Suspect X," directed by the celebrated Sujoy Ghosh. The film centers around a single mother, compellingly portrayed by Kareena Kapoor Khan, entangled in a dangerous deception as she attempts to cover up her estranged husband's murder. As her world teeters on the brink of chaos, her neighbor, a math teacher with his own hidden agenda, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, steps in to assist. However, their intricate plans are threatened when a dogged cop, brought to life by Vijay Varma, starts piecing together this perplexing case, culminating in a high-stakes showdown where nothing is as it seems. Joining this stellar cast are Saurabh Sachdeva, Karma Takapa, Naisha Khanna, and Lin Laishram, each contributing to a riveting ensemble performance. The film's mood is expertly underscored by Shor Police's intense background music and enhanced by songs from Sachin-Jigar. Ghosh's visionary direction, combined with Urvashi Saxena's incisive editing, ensures a taut narrative that commands your attention from beginning to end. Every element of the film contributes to its nail-biting tension and emotional depth. In a nutshell, "Jaane Jaan" is not just a movie but a complex tapestry of emotion, suspense, and unexpected twists. It's a roller-coaster ride that no thriller or drama fan should miss, cementing its status as a must-watch.

Impressive. Unexpected plot twists. Excellent use of colors and cast. Portrays the intensity of one-sided love and that too from an eccentric academic. A dark experience. Naaru brought back memories of a guy from my school days who had an equally eccentric way of expressing his feelings, just like the character in the movie. It's not about judging but noticing the resemblance. While the movie had a strong presence, the ending left me wanting a bigger revelation. Perhaps my anticipation for more depth in this film, beyond a short-story format, influenced my slightly underwhelming experience.
