800 as the movie has changed my perspective on sportspersons now. I knew about Muralidaran taking the highest wicket in Test cricket, a record no one has broken to date. But this movie helped to deep dive into his life. When I uncovered the true story of his sufferings right from his boyhood, in the form of anti-Tamil hatred in Sri Lanka, to the chucking controversy orchestrated by the global cricket bodies to him fighting for his place in the Under-19 team of Sri Lanka and his battle and victory to come out clean from any allegations of cheating, I was totally moved. If not for this film, most of us wouldn't be aware of any of it. Kudos to the director M. S. Sripathy for bringing-forth Murali's extraordinary story to the limelight in the form of a unique and unconventional styled biopic.
