Quarterfinal action in the Advanced -80kg division as Mahdi Rasoli faces Thomas van der Werf at the RAMM Fighting Series. This is high-level standing grappling where control, timing, and execution decide who moves forward in the bracket. Mahdi Rasoli brings strong offensive pressure and looks to dictate the pace with clean takedown entries and forward movement. Thomas van der Werf responds with composure and positional awareness, aiming to neutralize attacks and create openings for decisive counters. With a semifinal spot on the line, both athletes are forced to push the pace. Expect intense grip fighting, explosive takedown attempts, and tactical exchanges throughout the match. This is pure takedown grappling: no groundwork, no stalling — just control, balance, and high-intensity action. THE RULES First to Three: The first fighter to land three takedowns wins the match. Control to Score: To score, you must force your opponent down on a knee or elbow for three solid seconds. Sudden Death: If time runs out during a tie, the fight continues until the next point takes it all. 📍 Event: RAMM Fighting Series 📅 Date: April 12, 2026 🇳🇱 Location: MFG Sports Academy, Heerlen, Netherlands 🏆 Division: Advanced -80kg Make sure to check out our Partners: RAMM Fighting Series Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rammfightingseries/ Website: https://www.combatnl.com/ramm ABOUT COMBATNL CombatNL is the premier stage for Dutch combat talent.
