Red Vs Green PBJJF Charlotte April 1, 2023 00:16 Green hits a knee cut but Red uses inversion and a defensive style to keep himself safe. He almost has his back taken but remains calm and gets out. No score 01:01 Green hits a couple of rolling kimura entries against the seated guard. 02:59 Red has been putting on a fine display of defense. He is mainly using techniques that rely on flexibility and has yet to mount any serious offense. Perhaps the strategy is to make Green use energy but Green still has some in the tank as he hits another rolling kimura entry. That one was closer but again no score Red has impressive guard retention. Match ends I didn’t notice any advantages given maybe a ref decision for Green. Good call, Red showed outstanding guard retention but had very few offensive movements. It’s one thing to be good defensively but you must be able to flow into cycles of attack. There was one leg attempt by Red, I was thinking they might be against the rules since no one had gone for a leg. Defensive guards like that are vulnerable to leg attacks, I was surprised Green didn’t attempt one as much as Red was putting his feet up there. And Red also had the ability to get to the legs due to his insane flexibility. But in the end it was Green pushing the pace and looking to make things happen. Good call Ref.
