On June 1, 2019, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA, unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua made his U.S. debut against late replacement challenger Andy Ruiz Jr. in one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history. Coming into the fight, Joshua was 22–0 (21 KOs), while Ruiz Jr. held a record of 32–1 (21 KOs). Joshua started strongly and scored a knockdown in the third round, appearing to be in control early. However, Ruiz responded immediately with fast combinations that stunned Joshua and shifted the momentum dramatically. As the fight progressed, Ruiz’s hand speed, pressure, and accuracy repeatedly troubled Joshua, who struggled to recover and maintain composure. Ruiz scored multiple knockdowns as the champion became increasingly vulnerable. In the seventh round, Ruiz dropped Joshua twice more, prompting the referee to wave off the fight and award Ruiz a TKO victory, crowning him the new unified heavyweight champion. 📍 Date: June 1, 2019 📍 Venue: Madison Square Garden 📍 Location: New York City, New York, USA 🏆 Title: Unified Heavyweight Championship (WBA • IBF • WBO • IBO) 🥊 Result: Ruiz Jr. wins by TKO (Round 7, 1:27) ⏱️ Rounds: 12-Round Title Fight 📊 Records at the time of fight: Anthony Joshua: 22–0 (21 KOs) Andy Ruiz Jr.: 32–1 (21 KOs) 🔥 One of the greatest upsets in heavyweight history, as Ruiz shocked the boxing world with a stunning comeback victory to dethrone Joshua on his American debut. -------------------- ╔═╦╗╔╦╗╔═╦═╦╦╦╦╗╔═╗ ║╚╣║║║╚╣╚╣╔╣╔╣║╚╣═╣ ╠╗║╚╝║║╠╗║╚╣║║║║║═╣ ╚═╩══╩═╩═╩═╩╝╚╩═╩═╝ to the channel people 00:00 Intro 2:45 Round 1 5:15 Round 2 7:25 Round 3 9:35 Round 4 -------------------- Follow me insta @charlessalbox facebook @charlessalbox #boxing #usaboxing #boxeocubano #canelo
