Publisher's Summary At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape? They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus. ©2013 Rick Riordan (P)2013 Listening Library

What would have made The House of Hades better? The book is great, but the Narration is terrible. What was one of the most memorable moments of The House of Hades?BOB!What didn’t you like about Nick Chamian’s performance?Nick does not have the ability to perform multiple voices. If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The House of Hades?NoneAny additional comments?Very disappointed in the choice of narrator, will not buy the next book if they continue with Nick Chamian.

What would have made The House of Hades better? The Narrator is Aweful! I am a huge fan of the series and of Audible, but for them to allow this narrator to read the next book in the series is extremely disappointing. The narrator can make or brake a book, he broke this one. What was one of the most memorable moments of The House of Hades?Made it about 20 minutes into the book before i had to quit.Would you be willing to try another one of Nick Chamian’s performances?Absolutely NOT! What character would you cut from The House of Hades?I don't want to touch the story, I want to Cut the Narrator from the House of Hades.Any additional comments? Please Let Joshua Swanson read this, if he Narrated i would buy it again.

I've read every one of Rick Riordan's YA books starting with Percy Jackson. I've really enjoyed the Heroes of Olympus series...and then there was this one. It started slow and ended confusing. He took strange turns with characters I've grown to love (his choice, his characters, but really?) all in an effort to...well I'm not sure but some decision came out of nowhere it seems. The narration was okay, but sometime the narrator seemed to be speaking in the wrong characters voice. Probably time to end this series and move on. I wasted a credit and over 10 hours on this one.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?I am neutral on recommending this book.I think it is important to read for the complete story line, but Mr. Riordan's choice about Nicco was disappointing. The narration was way less fun than previous books. How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?I would leave the whole Cupid crap and revelation out.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Nick Chamian?Joshua Swanson

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you? If audible had kept the original narrator. I can't believe the switch was made. Had Nick Chamian narrated the original, we never would have made it past the few book. Just learned that he's narrating the last one as well. May not listen to it as a result. Who was your favorite character and why?None. They all lost their personality. What didn’t you like about Nick Chamian’s performance? It was painful to listen to. A terrible, monochromatic disappointment. You didn’t love this book...but did it have any redeeming qualities? No. It would have been fine fun with original narrator. Any additional comments? The last two books should be re-done with one of the original narrators. It's not right to do this to your listeners.

I was unpleasantly surprised that Joshua Swanson was not narrating the House of Hades. I have fallen in love with other series narrated by Josh like the Secret Series , which is a Young Adult book like the House of Hades. I hope Joshua will return in the next book!

why did he make Annabeth so whiney? worst voice choice ever. made it hard to get through because of this. does he have a problem w making female characters that are literally warriors sound strong? are his voices so limited that the only option to differentiate gender is to make women whiney? gross. thats all I have to say.

The House of Hades was a great read.. I have really enjoyed reading/listening to it, toomany events right from the start of the book..There was many new characters and too many old characters coming back.. some of them get a crucial part in this book and others just pass by. One of the reasons why i liked this book is that you feel that all the charactersare growing up, some of them physically, others by how they act... also secrets come out too..honestly i feel The House of Hades is the best so far, and i can't wait to see how the next book will be like.

Would you listen to The House of Hades again? Why?I guess!?! iBut i miss the old narrator. I may need to just buy the book and read it because its hard to get use to the change in character voices. I kinda want a refund :(Would you be willing to try another book from Rick Riordan? Why or why not?I love Rick Riordan's books What didn’t you like about Nick Chamian’s performance? He tried but he is not Joshua Swanson or Jesse Bernstein. His voice was slightly dry even in the action parts. Hassel's voice, Leo's voice and everyone's voice just sucks. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?I keep putting this book down, I just can't follow do to the fact the narrovator can't do the characters voices well. Any additional comments?BRING BACK Joshua Swanson !!! I'd play twice as much for the book if i could listen to it performed well.

What disappointed you about The House of Hades? It's sad when an author has to get people hooked to a story and then start promoting the gay agenda. The book is aptly named, House of Hell. I will not be buying or reading anything else from this author. Immorality is what killed Rome; it will also be the down fall of America.
